In the last year, we have spent a lot of time on the road getting our Coffee & Records operation into existence. Traveling for Coffee's sake is pretty great, but maybe second to traveling for Rock n Roll. Central to our plans and motivation, we have built our company as a way to continue to move people across borders and stages, and also have a means to to do it.
Last March we started to work with our friends in Guadalajara, Mexico and brought Canadian acoustic punk Eamon McGrath down for 3 shows in Guadalajara, San Luis Potosi and Mexico City. It was a quick trip full of good friends, better food, and an amazing bull fighter bar. The stages at La Kalaka, Loud Open Stage and Dirty Sound were a great introduction to some of the people and places that make this work in Mexico.
That tour lead to CANIBALES from Guadalajara joining forces with Cuban punx Adictox for a western Canadian rip from Winnipeg to Victoria. Adictox had been to Canada before and we organized visas for them to come and play a series of dates across the country. They played the Varning from Montreal festival and a few other Eastern Canadian dates before flying to Winnipeg to meet up with CANIBALES and hit the road.
We are working hard to keep bringing the best in DIY music and art to good people wherever they are. We have an announcement about an upcoming tour project coming very soon! Stay tuned as we launch the next phase of The GRIZZLAR Records!
